When I first started Ambition Bookkeeping, I wrote an introduction explaining who I was and what I hoped the business would become. At the time, everything felt new - the business, the direction, and the possibiltes ahead.
A lot has changed since then.
So I felt like the right time to start over and introduce myself again, this time from a place of a little more experience and a lot more perspective.

My name is Sarah Williams, and I'm the owner of Ambition Bookkeeping, LLC in Southern Iowa. I work with small businesses across the southern portion of the state to help them keep their books organized, accurate, and understandable.
For many business owners, bookkeeping sits in the back of their mind. It's something they know needs attention, but it's easy to push aside while they focus on running their business. Over time, that stress builds up. Receipts pile up, accounts get confusing, and financial reports stop making sense.
That's where I come in.
My goal is simple: help business owners feel confident about their numbers again.
Over the past several years, I've had the opportunity to work with businesses in industries like automotive repair, towing, restaurants, transportation, and other local service businesses. Each on operates differently, but one thing they all have in common is this:
When the books are clear, the entire business runs smoother.

Alongside building Ambition Bookkeeping, I've continued my education in accounting and business. I completed my associate's degree in accounting and am currently working toward my bachelor's degree at Grand View University, studying accounting and business administration with a concentration in marketing.
I also hold a QuickBooks Pro Certification, which allows me to help businesses not only maintain their books but also clean up and organize QuickBooks systems that may have gotten off track.
One thing that still makes my business a little different is that I'm a Mobile Bookkeeping. Instead of asking business owners to gather everything and bring it to me, I can come to them when needed. For many small businesses, that flexibility makes it easier to stay organized without disrupting their day-to-day operations.
Over tiem, the work I do has expanded beyond just bookkeeping entries. Many of the business owners I work with are also looking for help understanding their financial reports, cleaning up past records, preparing their books for tax season, or simply getting their systems organized so they can move forward with confidence.
Sometimes the biggest impact isn't complicated accounting work - it's simply bringing clarity to something that has felt overwhelming for a long time.
Clear books give business owners the freedom to focus on running their business
Outside of work, I'm a mom of 5 and spend most of my time with my family. I enjoy reading, crocheting, and spending time together at home. Living and working in Southern Iowa means many of the people I meet are neighbors, friends, and fellow business owners that genuinely care about their communities.
Being able to support those businesses is one of the most rewarding parts of this work.

This blog is a place where I'll share practical bookkeeping tips, QuickBooks guidance, and some things I'm hearing from business owners throughout Southern Iowa.
My hope is that it becomes a helpful resource - not just for my clients, but for any small business owner who wants to better understand their numbers and build a stronger financial foundation.
If you every have questions about your bookkeeping or just want to talk through where things stand in your business, feel free to reach out. I'm always happy to have a conversation.
